  1. This disc has the source for the X11R5 Window System, the X11
  2. contributed software, and the entire Free Software Foundation GNU
  3. source code.  Along with the source code, you get SPARC binaries and
  4. libraries for the GNU programs and the X11R5 server clients.  So if
  5. you have a Sparc Station or compatible, you can run X11R5 and the GNU
  6. programs *without* compiling.  For other systems, you can compile
  7. these programs and run them on almost any Unix workstation.

  9. The GNU distribution includes 120 GNU programs, including GNU Emacs,
  10. the GNU C and C++ compilers, the ghostscript on screen Postscript
  11. previewer, the GNU assembler, the GDB symbolic debugger, Smalltalk
  12. and Perl interpreters, and lots of utilities such as tar, sed,
  13. indent, troff, make, RCS, etc.  You also get GNU-Chess and GNU-Go.

  15. The X11R5 and GNU CDROM is in ISO-9660 format with Rock Ridge
  16. extensions.
